Knox boxes are a new and up coming concept at Rumford Fire. The Rumford Fire department has implemented the use of Knox Boxes, they will no longer keep keys at the Central Station due to liability and the possibility we may be responding from a location other than Central Station. The Rumford Fire Department provides a Municipal fire alarm system consisting of 74  fire alarm boxes including master and street. We are also connected to the Nine Dragons paper mills fire alarm system, they have 24 boxes. The system is divided into 4 circuits and rings directly to Central Station, it also rings over Rumford Fire radio frequency to alert the Firefighters if they are out of the station.
